With open enrollment beginning November 1st, there is a lot of uncertainty, coupled with a series of actions the Trump administration has taken in the months leading up to open enrollment, means the fifth open-enrollment period is shaping up to be the most challenging since the ACA was implemented. Premiums are raising significantly in many counties across the country, in part due to the Administrations decision to cease payments to insurers for cost-sharing reductions. Insurer participation also declined in many areas, leaving more counties with only one insurer, which likely contributed to the high rate of premium growth. With Ambetter being the only carrier in Chatham County's exchange, would like to note that our practices may see a substantial increase in Ambetter patients come 2018.
